A Wedding Florist's Approach

Your wedding flowers are the number one way to bring your vision to life on your special day.  They instantly transform the feel of a room and will feature on all your wedding photos.

Your Wedding flowers booking process

 First consultation

We offer an initial free consultation to discuss your ideas, style and aspiration.  Following the initial consultation I will write an initial proposal.  The proposal often includes a menu of options for you to consider as well as our T&Cs.

Confirming your booking

Should you decide you would like us to create your floral designs, an initial payment from the total cost is required. This payment enables us to secure your booking, to research and to develop your floral designs in order to create your wedding flowers order lists.  I will personally create a  mood board to complement your dress and the overall theme of your wedding.

Second consultation and final payment

The second consultation ideally takes place at your venue so that we can together finalise the scope of your order and agree the best placements of your flowers.    The balance payment is due 8 weeks prior to your wedding date.    In the context of the continuing Covid-19 we have introduced "Relaxed Terms and Conditions" for 2021 bookings to offer flexibility during uncertain times.    Please get in touch for more information.

On the day

I work with a team of trusted and talented free-lance florists.  My team and I will deliver your bridal flowers and install your ceremony and reception flowers.  We always install your flowers ourselves to ensure your theme and vision is just as agreed with you.

frequently asked questions about Wedding flowers

What services do you provide?

We provide a full bespoke wedding flower design and styling service. The service includes a free consultation followed by a wedding flowers estimate. Should you decide to book with us, we offer a free venue visit to visualise together how your flowers will look. We will also create a design board in your colour palette with examples of designs. We deliver, install and collect wedding flowers. We can source a wide range of styling props thanks to our network of trusted suppliers. For large wedding we are happy to provide a free mock up of a flower arrangement so that you can see the shape, design and blooms. We provide as much guidance, advice and assistance as we reasonably can to bring your vision to life.

What and who do I bring to my first consultation?

The consultation is a really good way to discuss face to face your ideas and vision. It's your wedding, your special day and you've got to be happy with who you book to create your wedding flowers! The consultation can take place at our studio over tea and cake or at a mutually convenient location. It can also take place at your wedding venue by prior arrangement with your event co-ordinator. It's really helpful if you can bring photos of styles, colours and flowers you like. Pinterest can be a good source of information but be aware that the flowers in the photos you like may not be in season on your wedding date or may be from countries, for example California, where seasons can be longer. Peony season is unfortunately short - from May to mid-July. It's always lovely to meet your future groom too so you can make joint decisions and a member of your close family if you'd like.

When do I need to book my wedding flowers?

As soon as you have your wedding venue booked and ideally your dress. Like all wedding suppliers, wedding florists get booked up in advance. Saturdays in June are like gold dust and we want to give your wedding our undivided attention!

How is the cost of wedding flowers calculated?

Apart from seasonality, the main other factors are the size of the wedding (e.g. number of guest tables), the size of the bridal party (e.g. number of bridesmaids), how much foliage to blooms, the style and size of the arrangements. Included in the calculations of the cost of flowers are the design time and skills of the florists, the use of materials such as wires, ribbons, pearl/ diamante headed pins, floral foam (if we have to use foam, we use the new more environmentally friendly foam), the use of our own vases, urns, vessels, pedestals, arches etc. Our floral style is full and generous with a high stem count often using scented garden roses. We use high quality silk, double sided satin or velvet ribbons.

What do you do on the big day?

Our aim is to make the process as stress free as possible so we take care of all the flower related logistics on the day, leaving you to concentrate on enjoying your day. We will have introduced ourselves to your venue/s and send them an itinerary with delivery and collection times. We deliver your bridal flowers either to your home address or to your venue if that is where you are getting ready. The delivery of the bridal flowers is always a special moment and we take great care in ensuring it is not rushed. We then deliver and install your ceremony and reception flowers. We collect the flowers and vases, urns and props the next day by prior arrangement with your venue/s. We like to deliver the bride's bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets in matching clear glass vases with a little water (the ribbons do not get wet!) so that they stay at their freshest until you are ready to leave for your ceremony. Our brides usually like to use the vases to display the bouquets during the day. We are also happy to liaise with your cake maker and with your hair stylist if fresh flowers are required.
